Perambulation

/p蓹藢rambj蕣藞le瑟蕛n/ noun (formal)

  • Primary Definition: An act or period of walking or traveling through a place or area, especially for pleasure and in a leisurely way.
  • Historical (British English): A walk around a parish, forest, or specific territory in order to officially assert and record its boundaries.

I thought I might like to live by the sea in the UK. So I started planning trips to coastal places to check them out from land and water. And, after a while, I realised that it was the walking and boating that was important not finding a place to live.

The perambulation has become the destination.
