I wanted to stop in Caister to see the Roman remains (small but interesting) and then tried the walk along the beach to Great Yarmouth. This was really quite impressive as the beach is wider than I’d expected and gets quite wild and empty in the section between the towns.

The walk into Great Yarmouth reminds you of how grand it once was with the massive buildings down and pier at the seafront. On a later visit I went to the local Time and Tide Museum that tells the story of the herring industry up until the 1960s - well worth checking out.
