This is a must go! It is a shingle spit that runs alongside a river mouth which was out of bounds for decades as the military were using it. It is now open for a limited number of visitors who travel out (and back!) on a National Trust ferry service.

There are the weirdest structures whose uses included testing atomic bomb detonators (absent the actual nuclear material). If you have ever played the game Fallout 4 (or seen the TV series) the landscape will resonate.
