St Peter and Bradwell

I saw St Peter’s Chapel as I was planning a walk and could not believe we had a 7th century chapel in the UK. I had to go. There are no nearby train stations so I grabbed my chance on a drive back from Norfolk.
It was a glorious summer’s day and the chapel was as impressive as I had hoped. It sits on a Roman site and uses brick from a fort that has largely gone. The walk round the headland is splendid with views of boats sailing on the Blackwater.
There are several places where you can get down to the water and, it being hot, I had to go in. Lovely.
